Gloop

We are learning about change. We decided to look at gloop (cornflour and water). First the children got a bit of cornflour to feel and describe. Some of the words they came up with to describe cornflour were:
* white
* soft
* squeaky
* powdery
* sticky

Here are some photos of us looking at, feeling and describing the cornflour.

Life Education

On Monday 1st of August we went to the Life Education caravan. The caravan was in the car park. When we were in the caravan we saw Corinne and Harold the giraffe. Then we looked at Harold big question and my two favourite parts that I learnt was about your tubes and where your food goes. I saw 2 pipes (tubes) and Corinne told us about it. She said one pipe is for food. The food pipe carries your your food to your stomach and it is the same for the oxygen and water pipe. I learnt with Corinne when our food is in the stomach, it takes hours and hours to go into our small intestine.

Tarantulas

A tarantula has 10 legs. Some are black and orange. Tarantulas build their burrows in the ground. They use their fangs to dig them. When they feel affected, they shoot out little spikes at the predator. They eat beetles, insects and grasshoppers. They can jump on their prey. They live in central America, rainforests and jungles.

Minibeasts

Yesterday I saw a tree covered in spider webs. And I was studying about Minibeasts. When I saw the hole with lots of spider webs, it was fun. When I walked in the middle of some trees there was spider webs. When I walked through the middle the webs made my eyes watery.
